Plumber (Construction)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include:
Repair and maintain all campus plumbing systems, domestic hot and cold water systems, sprinkler systems and pool maintenance. Drain cleaning service with power equipment up to 4 pipe, experience preferred if not will be trained. Install new equipment to include toilets, sinks, domestic hot water heaters, and piping repairs. Responsible for following all applicable OSHA, EPA and NFPA codes/standards in the shop and on campus (i.e. confined space entry, ladder safety, etc.). Assist with and oversee activities of outside contractors. Repair and maintain campus fire sprinkler protection systems. Work with Fire Sprinkler contractor with the quarterly sprinkler inspections. Repair and maintain new water service and maintenance of building water mains. Performs all aspects of swimming pool aquatic maintenance. Repair and maintain kitchen equipment and systems. Maintain shop in a neat and orderly manner and maintain shop equipment inventory.
SECONDARY DUTIES include:
Responsible for maintenance and repair of storm water management systems. Assist with repair and maintenance of campus irrigation systems. Working from heights including roofs and ladders. Assist other trades and emergency responders when necessary to perform maintenance and repair of any and all facility related problems. Participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and to improve knowledge base on plumbing codes. Participate in the 24/7 rotational on call program for plumbing and HVAC. Report when called on for emergency service that will include evening and weekend hours. Assist with school special events that will include evening and weekend hours. Work with minimal supervision. Perform other trade related duties as assigned.
