Buyer (Finance)

Norwood Medical, a leading manufacturer of high-quality medical components, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our growing Purchasing team. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services essential for our manufacturing operations. This role requires a strong understanding of procurement principles, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated environment. The successful candidate will contribute to ensuring a consistent and cost-effective supply of materials while maintaining the highest quality standards required for medical devices.
Responsibilities include:
Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers of raw materials, components, equipment, and services. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers. Generate and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently. Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable agreements. Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data to determine reasonable pricing. Manage and resolve discrepancies related to pricing, quality, and delivery. Collaborate with production planning and other departments to forecast material needs and ensure timely delivery. Monitor inventory levels to optimize stock and minimize potential shortages or excess. Maintain accurate and organized procurement records, including supplier contracts, purchase orders, and pricing information. Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance. Utilize ERP/MRP systems effectively for procurement and inventory management.
