241102.Equipment Mechanic II (Maintenance)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the general direction of a Fleet Supervisor, the Fleet Technician II is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of vehicles and equipment, including automotive, diesel, construction, and agricultural machinery. This position includes overseeing subordinate mechanics, acting as a Lead Worker, and managing the operations of a small repair shop or garage when applicable. The technician must possess strong technical aptitude and diagnostic skills, utilizing computer interfaces and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot vehicle systems effectively. Additionally, the Fleet Technician II is responsible for performing both minor and major repairs, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and ensuring compliance with preventative maintenance and safety programs. This role requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while providing guidance and support to team members.

COMPENSATION
$24.00-$32.00 per hour based on experience
REQUIRED FOR ALL HCAA JOBS
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS)
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Three (3) years of experience repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment, such as automobiles, trucks, or lawn maintenance equipment.
· Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification, or able to obtain within six (6) months of hire but required within 180 Days. Due to Certification testing availability, time may be extended.
· Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification, including A or T Series Brakes and Suspension, or able to obtain within 6 (six) months of hire, but required within 180 days of hire. Due to Certification testing availability, time may be extended.
Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted below.
· Must possess a valid, current Florida Driver License at the level required for the position when operating an Authority vehicle or driving on behalf of the Authority.
