Johnsonville products are enjoyed in 45 countries and served in 130 sports stadiums throughout the U.S. Johnsonville, LLC Environmental Manager Position Overview: As the Environmental Manager, you will plan, develop and implement environmental strategies and policies throughout the organization. You will work closely with the company's sanitarian, sanitation, WWTP operators, and safety and maintenance teams to help Johnsonville operate more sustainably. You will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines. The Environmental Manager will have the opportunity to assess and reduce environmental risks and costs while raising awareness of the best practices and sustainability targets for Johnsonville. Responsibilities:
Manage the Environmental with federal and state regulations, environmental policies and company procedures across Johnsonville facilities.
Work closely with plant maintenance coordinators, utility leaders, waste treatment operators, and project managers to drive improvement in environmental compliance.
Validate that the PSM program complies with OSHA and EPA standards, by serving as the liaison between safety, engineering and plant refrigeration departments.
Perform internal auditing, environmental training and drive standardization and continuous improvement throughout the organization within Environmental compliance and Sustainability.
This position will interface with State and Federal Agencies and will provide internal guidance on regulatory issues, manage the regulatory compliance of all Johnsonville facilities and support business expansion.
Drive continuous improvement and implementation of the company's environmental program, updating and developing new risk-based programs to promote performance improvements and reduce risk.
Manage environmental reporting, targets, and metrics.
Communicate significant risk issues to the operations and senior leaders concerning environmental incidents and reporting, root-cause assessments, corrective actions, and non-compliance to drive change and improvements.
Support hazmat teams and co-lead the corporate PSM/RMP committee.
Serve as Internal auditor to EHS/EMS & PSM Elements internal auditor.
Actively participate in cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies that support our operating facilities and lines of business.
Establish and maintain relationships with peer groups, trade associations, and customers to support Environmental, Sustainability, Engineering, Operations, and other business functions.
This position will require occasional travel by car or air to other JVL locations or vendors.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree required
Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in Environmental
Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles, including air, stormwater, wastewater, drinking water, EPCRA, SARA, RMP, waste management, Oil Spill Prevention, OSHA, SARA, RETA EPA requirements
Experience in managing Environmental Management Systems & Process safety management elements preferred
Knowledgeable in the relationship of Federal, state, and local regulations and where to find specific laws and guidance documents
Ability to collaborate with other functional areas within the company
Up to 30% travel required
