Job Overview: Linde Gases US, a division of Linde, is currently seeking a Lead Production Technician This position will be based out of the Linde Air Separation facility located in East Chicago, IN. This position reports to the Production Superintendent(s) and will have direct responsibility for the production activity of four Air Separation Plants, a Hydrogen Liquefier, and several associated processes. Primary Responsibilities: - Daily review of sales/inventory or applicable production reports through CAPOC. - Review Production Logbook-Address operational efficiency concerns in a timely manner. - On-call first responder for Production related issues. Escalate to Production Superintendent as needed. - Ensure Compliance - Praxair personnel and contractors to all safety requirements, review HWPs and LOTO for completeness. - Ensure Government Permits and Praxair Policies are followed - understand and comply with the parameters given from QA, ISO, S&ES, and EAM. - Ensure EAM programs and PM schedules are followed through verification practices. - Ensure compliance to all applicable SSOP's and SMP's through organized communication, assignments, and verification. - Effectively reduce technician overtime/call-outs through improved troubleshooting skills - compare results to target. - Lead Production training of current & new technicians. Ensure training records are kept on all employees and all necessary training is scheduled, attended, and completed (majority in-house). - Anticipate Reliability Issues - failures have root cause analysis and corrective measures in a timely manner. - Housekeeping - whether Praxair or Contractor - set the standard for housekeeping and implement corrective action. - Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) Support & Engagement. - Root Cause Analysis/ Root Cause Investigation (RCA/RCI) Support/Engagement. - Plant Production Outage Coordination/Communication. - SSOP Creation and Revision. - Position requires outdoor work year-round. This would also include climbing 150' tall columns, some heavy lifting, using man-lifts, and driving semi-trucks within the plant site. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED. - Minimum of 4 years of industrial operations experience. - Experience reviewing data for troubleshooting. - Competency with computers, Microsoft applications (specifically Word and Excel), email, and process control computer systems - Safety commitment and compliance with procedures. - Safe driving. - Moderate lifting (20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, <10 lbs. constantly). - Must be able and willing to work overtime as required and be on call. Some local and overnight travel maybe required. Preferred Qualifications: - Process Technology Degree or equivalent preferred. - Team leadership experience. - Cryogenic Air Separation experience. - 5+ years of rotating equipment experience.
