University Social Media Spec (Finance)
The University Social Media Specialist supports the management of the University of Houston's official social media presence by creating engaging content, capturing professional photos and videos, monitoring online conversations and responding to incoming messages. This role ensures all content aligns with UH's brand and strategic goals while staying ahead of social media trends to drive engagement and visibility.
1. Plans, creates and schedules engaging content for UH's official social media platforms.
2. Monitors social media conversations about UH and compile daily reports for leadership.
3. Responds to messages, comments and email inquiries to engage with the UH community.
4. Attends campus events to capture and share professional photos and videos for social media.
5. Ensures all content aligns with UH's brand, editorial and social media guidelines.
6. Identifies and escalate urgent social media issues such as emergencies or reputational concerns.
7. Stays informed on social media trends, platform updates and best practices to enhance UH's digital presence.
8. Analyzes performance of content to maintain a leading social media strategy.
9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.
