The purpose of an A Moldmaker is to insure that molds are built or repaired in accordance with control plans and customer expectations. They are expected to participate in the quoting and designing of tools in addition to the actual building and repairing of tools; have a thorough knowledge of CNC machining, understand the function of all mold components, and the tolerances that are needed to produce a quality mold and therefore work that meets these expectations. An A Moldmaker must be able and willing to learn new technology as it becomes available; may have responsibility to more than one mold at a given time, depending on workload, and is expected to work with little or no supervision, perform all duties in a safe manner, and to report any safety concerns. They are responsible for implementation of Quality Systems as identified in the Flambeau Technology Centers Quality Assurance Manual and Supporting Documentation. Responsibilities: Build or repair molds in accordance with tool designs and control plans or accepted procedures. Assemble molds in accordance with tool designs and control plans. Quality checks required by control plans. Review mold designs for molds assigned. Train, assist, and impart knowledge to other associates including apprentices. Participate in quote meetings and tool design meetings as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.
