Payroll Tax Specialist (Administrative)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare payroll taxes, with ability for general numbers crunching
Reviews appropriate customer payroll federal, state, and local tax filings for completeness
Conduct, manage, negotiate, and settle tax audits for both federal and state taxes
Review tax information supplied by client, may meet with, or call client with questions
Provide excellent customer service to both customers and internal support team
Provide tax and accounting guidance and support for internal support team
Recognizes, anticipates, and resolves tax issues, makes recommendations
Meet productivity and efficiently standards
Ensures disbursement of direct deposit funds authorized, complete and accurate through creation and verification of ACH files
Responsible for tax escrow, direct deposit and trust funds accounted for and reconciled
Tax information is reviewed and approved for new clients and/or conversion
Perform analysis of operations monthly
Stay up to date with Federal, State and Local payroll tax law changes
Billing accounts receivable
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
2+ years of payroll tax experience
Working knowledge of payroll tax code and payroll tax regulations
Ability to perform tax planning and tax due diligence
Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities
Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
Excellent customer service skills
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft Excel as well as experience with accounting software
Must be a team player/flexible and able to work in fast paced/changing environment
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field a plus
Overtime may be required
