Aggregate Environmental Foreperson (Finance)

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
• Coordinate with Environmental Manager and Aggregate Site Manager to ensure reclamation and restoration/stabilization needs are met at APAC-Mississippi, Inc. and APAC-Tennessee, Inc. aggregate sites.
• Coordinate, plan, and perform/supervise crew to ensure that reclamation and restoration/stabilization work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Operate equipment to perform finish grade, slope work and other excavating operations as part of the reclamation and restoration/stabilization activities at aggregate sites.
• Ensure erosion and sediment controls are installed and functioning as part of the stabilization activities (temporary and permanent grassing) to meet environmental compliance at aggregate sites. These activities will be completed by APAC employees and subcontract personnel.
• Interact and maintain a positive working relationship with subcontractors hired to help supplement aggregate site reclamation and restoration/stabilization activities.
• Inspect equipment prior to use and at the end of shift.
• Manage daily timekeeping logs, equipment logs, as well as completing daily reports.
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Inspect all work throughout reclamation and restoration/stabilization process to ensure it meets company expectations and site permit requirements.
• Comply with all APAC-Mississippi, Inc./APAC-Tennessee, Inc. MSHA policies and guidelines to ensure the work area is safe within the aggregate site.
• Frontline safety responsibilities and management of the crew at the aggregate site.
• Use positive reinforcement as a form of disciplinary action to educate, train, enforce company policies and meet established goals.
• Report any personal injuries and equipment damage to appropriate personnel.
• Recruit, interview and hire qualified applicants for available positions.
• Be involved in all other personnel actions.
• Be able to operate other types of equipment as needed.
• Be regular and timely in attendance.
• Miscellaneous/Other duties as required.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
• 3- 5 years' experience in finish or fine grade operation of heavy equipment or related experience and training.
• An understanding of surface mining and stormwater permit regulations is a plus.
• Previous MSHA training/knowledge preferred
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
• Earthwork equipment operation knowledge and the ability to train employees
• Ability to understand grade stakes.
• Experience with surveying, shooting grades, ordering materials and scheduling
• Must be a reliable and trustworthy individual that will be a team player.
• Capability to read and understand project plans and specifications.
• Must be productive during each shift and be willing to meet the goals that are set.
• Must be capable and licensed to drive a company pick-up or similar vehicle to aggregate sites, offices, and other locations as required to perform job duties.
• Must be physically able to walk on uneven surfaces and be able to stand and walk multiple hours a day throughout the aggregate site to perform the duties of the job.
• Must be able to prioritize, problem solve, and have organizational skills; be detail-oriented
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
• Must be dependable, self-motivated and task oriented.
• Travel and overnight stay will be required
• Weekend work may be required
