Title: Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist Reports to: END Manager Location: Blaine Hours: up to 20hrs (flexible hours) Position Description: The Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist is responsible for performing routine and complex procedures to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of clinical disorders of the nervous system in at least one of the following modalities of Neurodiagnostics: Electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EP), Epilepsy Monitoring (CLTM). Major Areas of Responsibilities: Demonstrates knowledge of standard 10-20 system of electrode placement. Prepares patient for testing by attaching monitoring devices, explains test procedures, and calibrates necessary equipment.Performs timely records according to standard protocol with limited artifact.Must have ability to troubleshoot malfunctions and perform minor repairs. Must have knowledge of pharmacology, environmental, and electrical interference causes that can affect the interpretation of testing. Records observations, analyzes data (must have knowledge of waveform recognition) and includes additional activations as needed.Selects montages appropriate to level of wakefulness, and according to Physician protocol.Demonstrates communication skills appropriate to ages served. Primary Accountabilities: Enters charges and routes documents to appropriate interpreting Physicians, with accompanying pertinent info as necessary.Ensures room is clean for next patient and safety measures are adhered to.Re-stocks exam room, patient hair washing rooms, and items for department routinely.Performs clerical procedures routinely such as: answering the phone, printing schedules, responding to and assisting patients/families as they arrive to suite.Archives studies regularly.Maintains department upkeep and appearance.Is proactive: Anticipates and responds respectfully to patient/physician/family member/coworkers needs. Demonstrates an energetic and positive approach to work. Is sensitive to customers physical, social, and cultural needs. Performs other duties as outlined by Supervisor or Director. Expectations: Graduate of accredited Neurodiagnostic program or R.EEGT equivalent.Experience in Ambulatory EEG, Long Term Video Monitoring, or Evoked Potentials preferred.Current BLS CPR certification.Must be able to perform repetitive tasks/motions, possesses good coordination, and clarity of vision.
