Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) is one of the Operating Units within the Cardiac portfolio at Medtronic. At CAS, we are developing next generation medical technologies that treat patients with abnormal heart rhythms. Our technologies save lives and improve the quality of living for millions of patients across the world by advancing innovation for the diagnosis and ablation of cardiac arrhythmias and enabling clinicians to perform procedures with superior outcomes.
The CAS business is projected to have solid growth, and this role will be critical in enabling our business to achieve our objectives to drive innovation, accelerate product introduction and lead the adoption of CAS driven therapies in the market.
In this exciting role as a Senior Engineering Director, you will be responsible for leading a subset of the CAS Quality organization, collaborating closely with cross functional leaders to drive the business priorities, objectives, and outcomes for our patients.
This position will be based at Mounds View, MN
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
• Lead and implement quality strategies that enhance business performance and product superiority.
• Ensure patient safety and product reliability through proactive lifecycle management.
• Delivering on CAS Quality priorities ensuring financial goals are attained
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold the highest quality standards and regulatory compliance.
• Lead and inspire the quality team throughout the total product lifecycle
• Responsible for regulatory compliance collaborating with cross functional and shared services teams
• Ensure product remediation deliverables are completed on schedule with the highest quality
• Support issues from the manufacturing facilities/suppliers working closely with Operation partners
• May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products.
• Works cross-functionally on product improvement and obsolescence activities
• Drives pre or post market quality improvement initiatives
• Works with R&D and manufacturing sites for resolution of product quality issues
• Collaborate with R&D, and Ops teams to drive DRM practices in product development process.
• Drive and ensure robust risk management process throughout product life cycle.
• Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery
• Foster a culture of diversity which enables the attraction, retention, and development of the Quality team
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical discipline.
• Minimum of 15 years of combined experience in quality, engineering or a related function with 10+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 13 years of combined experience in quality, engineering or a related function with 10+ years of managerial experience

• Experience optimizing cardiovascular innovation s and product development execution through process, metrics and best practice implementation , including incorporation of DFM and DRM.
• Strategic thinker, strong business acumen, thinks broadly , experience partnering with other business and functional leaders to drive portfolio optimization
• Highly influential leader who can navigate the matrix. Demonstrated ability to effectively work across the matrix and to collaborate and influence cross functionally
• Strong track record of execution and respect for project governance and delivery of predictability
• Demonstrated experience and competence influencing and managing cross-functionally and across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Mastery of managing complex issues , design controls and quality system regulations
• Experience in interacting with customers
• Experience with or conversant with the CAPA process
• Experience in interacting with manufacturing sites

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$212,800.00 - $319,200.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance , Health Savings Account , Healthcare Flexible Spending Account , Life insurance, Long-term disability leave , Dependent daycare spending account , Tuition assistance/reimbursement , and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
