VP, Global Head of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) (Biotech)
JOB SUMMARY
The Global Head of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) will lead the implementation of the global EHS strategy, initiatives, and oversight, ensuring—through the development of a highly effective global/regional team—the following:
Compliance (regulations, laws, standards, etc.)
Risk management (identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks proactively)
Employee safety
Environmental stewardship
Technical leadership
Brand protection (Jabil and Customers)

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer within the Corporate Legal Department, the Global Head of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) will be responsible for developing and executing Jabil's global EHS strategy, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, and fostering a culture of “Safety First, Always” and sustainable environmental stewardship across all operations. This global role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing EHS programs within a global electronics manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the right balance between industry standards, risk management, legal compliance, and regulatory requirements to develop practical and scalable solutions for a global electronics manufacturer. You will assess and implement actions that support Jabil's core values on risk mitigation, workplace safety, and environmental sustainability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Development
Manage direct reports as well as functionally aligned regional teams and provide indirect oversight of site operations.
Lead recruitment, hiring, and retention of EHS experts for corporate and regional teams.
Develop and implement KPI-driven performance measurement systems to assess team and individual contributions.
Build organizational capability by developing, conducting, and managing EHS educational/training programs for corporate, regional, and site operations teams, ensuring each has the appropriate technical and functional competencies.
Communication
Ensure structured and transparent communication with direct staff and leadership teams.
Create executive briefs, summaries, and rapid responses to risk when requested on the performance of EHS programs and management systems.
Internal: Collaborate with corporate executives, board members, and business leaders.
External: Collaborate with customers and external stakeholders, where applicable.
Operational Deliverables
Establish and enforce global EHS policies, programs, and procedures to ensure consistency and excellence across all operations aligned with the Corporate EHS Management System.
Champion EHS strategy at the executive level to ensure cross-functional integration, accountability, and alignment with business objectives.
Embed EHS practices into all operations across organizational boundaries.
Identify and mitigate internal risks and anticipate emerging risks.
Establish thought leadership in EHS by adopting cutting-edge technologies, innovative safety protocols, and global best practices to create a world-class working environment.
Cost Management
Identify creative ways to implement corrective actions in a cost-effective manner.
Utilize tools to track changes and identify cost impact for review with management.
Establish and drive forecast planning and budgetary needs for all EHS programs.
Compare forward forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.
Internal Relationships
Operate across organizational boundaries, driving the company's EHS policy, strategy, and goal implementation with limited direct authority over business leaders who must be influenced.
Work with VPs and other senior managers to collaborate, communicate, influence, and build consensus among senior leadership across the company to advance EHS policies and programs.
Regularly update management on the advancement of EHS goals for sustainability/ESG.
Build trusting internal relationships as a central point of contact and expert in EHS decision-making regarding issues affecting the company.
Motivate and engage line-level operations employees.
External Relationships
Build effective networks to understand common EHS challenges across the industry, enabling proactive positioning and strategy development for changes in EHS regulations and trends.
Ensure the most relevant and updated standards are adopted and deployed, properly assessing impact and garnering support for strategy and/or solutions.
Represent Jabil in public forums, industry conferences, and regulatory discussions related to EHS.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree and 12 years of relevant, progressive experience required; OR Master's degree and 10 years of relevant, progressive experience; OR equivalent combination of education, experience, and training in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
A Master's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Law, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field is preferred. A LLM in Health and Safety Law is a plus.
Professional EHS certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), or ISO 45001 are preferred. Additional environmental management certifications such as ISO 14001, CEM (Certified Environmental Manager), CESCO (Certified Environmental and Safety Compliance Officer), or REHS/RS (Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Registered Sanitarian) are highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience leading EHS audit and/or investigation teams required.
Proven ability to influence individuals at all levels of a global company, from C-Suite executives to frontline employees.
Experience managing complex EHS issues, including globalization, ESG/sustainability, multi-stakeholder partnerships, NGO/CSO community involvement, human rights, sustainable supply chain management, climate change, and crisis management.
Proven track record of successfully implementing change management initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
High-level understanding of Jabil's “Safety First, Always” culture and ability to embed it into global operations.
