Overview
The Data Steward is responsible for enforcing and disseminating policies and standards to ensure quality, accuracy, and security of the data within data hubs and across the integration landscape. They work closely with the data producers and consumers to ensure data is maintained and utilized in accordance with the Data Governance policies, standards, and processes. The data steward does not own the data but represents the interest of the cross-functional data owners and works to ensure sustainable data quality (root cause analysis, data monitoring and remediation, ongoing and new business and data quality controls, data maintenance to name a few).
The Data Steward role will initially serve as a Data Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Moonshine program. This individual will be assigned to the program to collaborate closely with its functional and technical leads, overseeing data-related activities such as migrations and conversions. The role involves close coordination with the Cheetah program, operating within the framework of the Data Governance structure. Data Stewards will be aligned with one of the functional areas-PTM (Plan to Make), PTP (Procure to Pay), or OTC (Order to Cash).
*Position will be filled as Data Steward at 1 of 3 levels, dependent upon candidate qualifications. Open to candidates in AMER and EMEA.*
Responsibilities
• Data Quality Management: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data by implementing data quality rules, standards, and policies. Identify and resolve data quality issues and anomalies.
• Data Governance: Enforce data governance policies and procedures. Collaborate with data governance teams to ensure compliance with data standards and regulations.
• Data Custodianship: Maintenance of specific data domains (e.g., customer data, product data) and maintain a deep understanding of the data within those domains.
• Data Profiling: Work with Data Quality Analyst to analyze master data to identify data patterns, anomalies, and potential issues. Use data profiling tools to assess data quality and identify areas for improvement.
• Data Documentation: Contribute to maintaining & updating comprehensive documentation of data processes and business and data quality rules. Ensure that data documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
• Data Cleansing: Perform data cleansing activities, such as standardization, deduplication, and validation, to eliminate data inconsistencies and redundancies working with other stewards, as relevant.
• Data Change Management: Manage the process of requesting changes and updates. Ensure that changes are made in accordance with established data governance processes.
• Issue Resolution: Address data-related issues and discrepancies promptly. Collaborate with business users and data owners to resolve data-related problems and ensure data accuracy.
• Data Monitoring and Reporting: Work with Data Quality Analyst to implement monitoring mechanisms to track the quality and performance of master data over time. Generate and distribute reports and dashboards that provide insights into data quality and compliance.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of master data management practices.
Qualifications
Minimum Work Experience/Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Management, Business Administration, Computer Science).
• 5 years of prior relevant experience as a Data Steward or similar role, with expertise in data management and data governance.
• Familiarity with Oracle Fusion Cloud CDM and PDH is a strong plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
• Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of ownership.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
• Works under general office environment conditions
• Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA
• Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences
• International and domestic travel as required
