Job Summary

Murphy Oil Corporation is seeking an experienced SAP focused Global Applications Supervisor with at least one implementation on SAP S/4 HANA and a good understanding of SAP suite of products viz SuccessFactors, GRC, MDG, BTP and ARIBA. The ideal candidate should have proven ability to operate independently in a lean environment, engage across business functions to crystallize the problem statement and work on aligning with the solution approach.

A typical day in a life would entail executing and leading different roles such as Support Lead, an expert functional and technical consultant, solution architect, project, and a de-escalation point of contact. You will be supported by a multi-location team with expertise in various SAP modules & applications.

The Global Applications Supervisor will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote.

Responsibilities

  • Overall: Lead and execute analysis of complex business problems. Based on strong understanding of Upstream O&G processes, SAP core, 3rd party software and Murphy application landscape formulate a path forward for optimal solution
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with business stakeholders at all levels, to understand issues, provide recommendations and build credibility. Build compelling presentations and convey key messages with confidence to stakeholders
  • Problem Solving: Ability to quickly assess the situation, establish the problem statement and provide a path forward based on all available information
  • Functional & Technical Expertise: Ability to evaluate functional specs and design appropriate solutions. Knowledgeable in SAP technical and system activities to challenge the team for managing architectural framework and operational soundness of the application
  • Project Management: Create WBS chart of a project, critical support issue resolution or a continuous improvement use case
  • Support Management: Lead troubleshooting and resolution of critical production system data problems or functionality issues in order to facilitate high reliability and performance of the system
  • Audit & Controls: Understand, support and ensure compliance with audit and control requirements. Effectively engage with auditors to explain observations with compensating controls and ensure zero deficiencies.
  • Service Partner Management: Oversee management of day-to-day support, operational activities, and enhancements as part of Managed Services delivery
  • Team Management & Collaboration: Manage a diverse and geographically spread team of resources in a multi-vendor environment. Foster collaboration between IT, Fusion Teams and business stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science or equivalent knowledge/experience
  • Minimum 10 years combined experience in the responsibility areas described above with 6 or more years of experience in SAP solutions design, and implementation preferred
  • Adequate exposure/experience in Upstream O&G Industry with SAP footprint
  • SAP Ecosystem -Strong experience with Suite on HANA or SAP S/4HANA. Good exposure to SuccessFactors, GRC, MDG, BTP, ARIBA, Solution Manager and various add-ons/bolt-on such as OneSource, Prometheus, and others
  • Solid understanding of SAP solution design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills with the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex technical material to diverse audiences ranging from business leadership to SAP developers.

The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
