Role reports to: Senior Director of Procurement
Location: Summit, NJ ( Kenvue is currently in the process of moving its Global Headquarters from Skillman, NJ to Summit, NJ. This role is based in Summit, NJ but there may be a period of time during the transition that you must report to Skillman, NJ.)
Pay: $144,000-$247,825
What you will do
The Director of Procurement, Supplier Innovation and Beauty is responsible for directing operational, functional, and personnel activities of the department. You will formulate efficient ways of conducting business, execute purchasing policies & procedures, and elevate performance standards and establish departmental objectives in line with business goals. Additionally, you will oversee supplier selection/onboarding, maintain relationships with key vendors, and lead a top performing global team of buyers in the area of product innovation. This role reports directly to the Sr. Director of Procurement, Global NPD, SRM and Outside-In Innovation
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the procurement team in scouting, identifying and implementing innovative supplier solutions that enhance the beauty product portfolio
• Develop strong partnerships with internal business stakeholders in marketing, R&D, operations and initiative management to create collaborative sourcing strategies that address diverse business needs.
• Identify strategic suppliers and build new levels of collaboration, develop new product concepts, and execute more efficient ways to deliver product to market
• Enhance our external manufacturing network by capturing new capabilities and communicating their contributions to internal stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products
• Manage procurement budgets, manpower requirements and negotiate contracts to ensure expenses are monitored/controlled cost-effective solutions
• Provide secure base leadership, coaching and guidance to a global dynamic team of procurement professionals to ensure successful execution of procurement strategies and top initiatives
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure the department has access to the latest market trends and pricing information
• Be well versed in the utmost cutting edge personal care technologies across all sourcing categories (i.e. direct materials and indirect services) to recommend to varied stakeholders that can improve the Kenvue's performance and support business goals. Leverage technologies from other industries that can advance our own
• Command expertise in the global external manufacturing market
• Collaborate with other department heads to resolve escalated problems and manage issues to resolution
• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, procedures, and performance standards through regular internal audits and remediation efforts
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or a related field
• Minimum of 10-15 years of related experience in procurement or supply chain management
• Experience in working with External Manufacturers in the personal care industry
• Proven track record of successfully implementing innovative procurement strategies, operations best practices, and high value master supply agreements
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and financial reporting skills
• Comfort and confidence in working with high level executives on a regular basis
• Excellent communication, professional polish and leadership abilities
• Proven track record of leading and managing a team of procurement professionals in a fast-paced environment to achieve departmental goals
• Expert knowledge of supply chain levers and strong Risk Management skills
• Passion for beauty and personal care products
• Independent, motivated, adaptable, compassionate and trustworthy
Desired Qualifications
• End-to-end experience in supply chain and operations or R&D
• Strong knowledge in chemical and/or packaging materials
• Memberships in professional/industry associations
• An MBA or Master's degree from an accredited institution in business or a related field
• Excellent presentation skills (i.e. creating and spoken)
What's in it for you
• Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $144,000-$247,825. This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
