Major Duties:
1.Responsible for managing the sales unit of NTSI. Conducts the performance management process, identifies training and development needs, and establishes performance standards for the unit.
2. Determines staffing needs, makes hiring and firing decisions, handles salary administration,
and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities.
3. Participates in developing the business unit strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit. Follows through to ensure objectives are met.
4. Accountable for achieving plan revenue expectations.
5. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment which encourages
employee participation, teamwork, and communication.
6. Understands business objectives and goals and recommends changes to product offering to meet business objectives.
7. Monitors trade activity for compliance with applicable regulations, policies and best practices.
8. Maintains relationships with and works to collaborate with NTSI Trading, Operations and Compliance.
9. Stays abreast of current and pending laws, regulations, and rules governing the industry.
10. Responsible for adherence to bank policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of business strategy development is necessary to provide long term planning and to manage the profitability/performance of a major business segment. Knowledge of the securities market, usually acquired through previous experience and formal training is necessary. FINRA Series 4, 7, 24, 53 and 63 registrations (or equivalents) are required. Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the unit goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of the staff.
Salary Range:
$137,400 - 240,400 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
