Facility Attendant (Finance)

Summary:
Provides support in the areas of facility, program, and event preparation. Sets up and dismantles tables, chairs, audio visual equipment, presentation materials, and kitchen equipment in all areas of the facility. Assists clients and full-time staff as needed. In addition, performs custodial responsibilities throughout the facility as required to maintain facility appearance, service to public, and operational status.
Work Schedule
This position works out of one or all Recreation facilities including Northside Aztlan Center, Foothills Activity Center, Senior Center, EPIC, Mulberry Pool, and/or Club Tico. This position works up to 29 hours per week and hours may vary based on location, program, and event needs - flexibility in scheduling preferred. Early morning, late night, weekend, and holiday availability strongly desired.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.
• - Works independently and as a member of a collaborative team to provide exceptional activities, services, and resources to the public.
• - Responsible for needs of programs, drop-in activities, and facility rentals while on duty.
• - Provides custodial services throughout the facility as needed including laundry, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash collection, storage organization, kitchen prep/clean-up as needed, and light snow removal between Parks Department clearing efforts.
• - Sets-up and dismantles equipment throughout the facility including tables, chairs, audio visual equipment, presentation materials, and kitchen equipment.
• - Conducts regular head counts, sanitizing rounds, and supply replenishment throughout the facility, and notifies supervisors of any inventory needs.
• - Completes forms for task completion, safety/incident reports, and facility/equipment repairs.
• - Communicates with on-site facility renters and completes pre- and post-rental survey forms.
• - Supports front desk team with member check-in and answering phones as needed.
• - Monitors and secures the facility as needed, including communication and enforcement of facility regulations.
• - May operate 15 passenger vans for transportation of equipment with provided training.
• - Completes required Department and City trainings and attends staff meetings as scheduled.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is not responsible for the supervision of employees.
City Competencies
Language Skills:
Ability to read instructions and communicate with facility, rental, and supervisory staff, and also the general public. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisor, groups of clients, customers, and the general public. Bilingual capabilities in Spanish and English highly preferred but not required.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve and implement practical solutions to problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Foresee and initiate proactive measures to ensure program quality, customer service and facility integrity.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Work will include the following: 1) sitting, standing and walking; 2) regular bending, stooping, twisting, balancing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and reaching; 3) fine motor manipulation of custodial and maintenance equipment including frequent lifting and carrying up to 15 to 25 pounds to head height or higher; 4) physical activity required for frequent pushing, pulling, lifting, or moving of 30-35 pounds independently; 5) occasional physical activity required for pushing, pulling, lifting, or moving of up to 50 pounds independently, or up to 100 pounds with assistance of rolling carts; 6) hand/eye coordination for operation of a computer keyboard and electronic tablet; 7) foot-eye coordination for the operation of equipment/storage dollies and motor vehicles; 8) vision to read written materials and understand direction; 9) speech and hearing capabilities to maintain effective communication.
