Lead Field Service Technician - Malta, NY (Finance)
Job Purpose: The Linde Field Service Lead Technician is a key member of the Standard Plant Operations (SPO) team. The Lead Technician supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operations of air separation plants in the New England Region of the United States. A successful candidate will demonstrate technical skills, self-motivation, and leadership in safety, quality, operations, troubleshooting, project management, technician development, and plant profitability. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong production process or air separation knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and skills working with instrumentation, control circuits, and electrical systems. The Field Service Lead Technician is the technical "go to" person for the area. Effective communication, exceptional work ethic, taking initiative, and delivering high quality work are essential to success. In addition, the Field Service Lead Technician has a key role in training, mentoring, and developing both new and experienced technicians. Scope: The Lead Technician works closely with management, plant technicians, Technical Support Engineers, and the Equipment Reliability Group. This position requires overnight travel of approximately 50%, including occasional trips to support activities outside of the immediate area of responsibility. The New England SPO Lead Technician must reside within or in the general area of New England. The Field Service Lead Technician will be trained in Linde safety, operations, databases/systems, and work processes needed to perform the job safely and efficiently. Reports To: Area Manager / Assoc. Director of Operations Working Conditions: In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: Regularly sit in front of a computer for extended periods; occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. This position requires overnight travel of approximately 50%, including occasional trips to support activities outside the immediate area of responsibility. The New England SPO Lead Technician must reside within or in the general area of New England. Primary Responsibilities: - Provide leadership and guidance in safety, quality, and operation activities at each plant location. - Assist in routine maintenance and calibrations on a variety of process equipment including, but not limited to centrifugal, screw, and reciprocating compressors, gas analyzers, electrical equipment, control systems, and pneumatic control valves. - Assist in coordinating contractors and resources, both internal and external to Linde, to support plant activities, outages/turnarounds, audits, and all administrative requirements. - Improve and maintain plant efficiency. - Assist and direct the training and development of new employees. - Self-Management and initiative demonstrated by devoting time and resources to multiple plant sites in the New England Region.
