Underwriter (Finance)

E & S Property Underwriter, 3 + years of experience

Golden Bear Insurance Company is looking for an experienced E & S Commercial Property underwriter for our Scottsdale, AZ office, reporting to the Property Team Leader and Vice President Property in the Stockton, CA Home Office. The right candidate will have both solid experience in the E & S property underwriting space, but also be a self-starter, self-motivated, and possess a sense of urgency and attention to detail. This person will sit in Scottsdale, as an extension of our Home Office Property team.

Primary expectations:
Prioritize service: the service standard is to respond to brokers within two business days of receipt of a submission, with a substantive response such as: a quote, a declination, follow-up question(s), or an indication. The property underwriter should strive to quote 5+ accounts each day, along with declining and pending accounts as appropriateEmbody flexibility and adaptability: be open to discussion, seek creative solutions, find a way to yes when possibleWork collaboratively: no team member is an island. Support your teammates, collaborate and communicate with other underwriters, management, and the support staffJoin the conversation: attend and participate in meetings. Bring suggestions, provide objective feedback, share market intelligence and broker comments

Environment: in the office a minimum of 4 days each week. 1 work from home day per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday; to be scheduled with Management and subject to change based on the business needs). Occasional travel10 20% for educational events, marketing, conferences, and Home Office visits.
