Unified Communications Engineer (Information Technology)
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, preferred.
JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a Unified Communications support or engineering role.
JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Solid understanding of network fundamentals (SDWAN, firewalls, and switches), VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323), QoS, and telephony systems.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within a UC environment.
Effective communication and collaboration skills within a team setting.
Valid drivers license.
Experience with Cisco Meraki networking solutions.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams Phone deployment and administration.
Understanding of integrating UCaaS and CCaaS platforms.
Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Office Environment.
Ability to travel up to 30%, as needed.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Execution: Implement, configure, and maintain our unified communications solutions, including VoIP systems, video conferencing, presence/IM, and related network routing and switching infrastructure. Participate in and execute project tasks as directed.
Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting for voice, video, and network-related issues within our UC environment. Isolate problems, implement solutions, and collaborate with other teams to ensure rapid issue resolution.
Maintenance and Optimization: Perform routine maintenance tasks, software updates, security patches, and capacity planning on the UC platform. Proactively optimize configurations to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
Technical Knowledge Resource: Share expertise with the UC team to enhance overall technical capabilities. Assist with documentation, knowledge transfer, and training initiatives.
Vendor Engagement: Collaborate with vendors and external service providers on technical issues, new implementations, and support escalations.
Growth and Development: Stay informed about emerging UC technologies, best practices, and industry trends. Actively seek opportunities for professional development and certifications.
