Accounting & Reporting Manager (Finance)

Job Description:

The Mars Wrigley North America Accounting & Reporting Manager will work closely with the shared service center, the Mars Wrigley North American Controllership team and the Segment Controller team to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial reporting. With a thorough understanding of accounting principles, the Finance Manual and internal controls, the Mars Wrigley North America Accounting & Reporting Manager will provide guidance and enforce compliance with accounting policies and procedures. This role will also require business partnership throughout the organization as new operating models are established or divested and require accounting focus. This role requires a high degree of attention to detail, business partnership to understand business drivers of financial results, and strong accounting and analytical skills.

What are we looking for?

• University degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent job experience a must (Graduate degree preferred)
• CPA or other professional certification (Preferred)
• +5 years years of experience in a corporate environment and/or public accounting firm.
• A background and experience in implementing, monitoring or testing financial controls

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Address Finance Manual questions regarding proper accounting and drive compliance;
• Business partnering to provide accounting guidance and perspective on all new accounting processes under consideration;
• Perform periodic business performance reviews to ascertain the quality of the regional financial statements and provide insights on financial results; Provide insights on financial results;
• Ensure timely delivery of period close financials and submissions by supporting period, quarter, and year-end activities in partnership with the shared service center;
• Business partnering to design efficient and effective solutions for process improvement;
• Support business activities with accounting related matters;
• Support for technical accounting implementations at the regional level;
• Support implementation of new business models and systems;
• Responsible for the execution and oversight of internal controls across the Mars Wrigley North America business;
• ERP expertise and knowledge management;
• Coaching and mentoring other accounting and reporting associates;
• Support ad hoc projects as needed;
• Review leases and other contractual agreements for accounting implications
