Asset Protection ORC Investigator (Finance)

PURPOSE:
The Asset Protection Organized Retail Crime (ORC) Investigator will gather video evidence and report on known shoplifters operating within assigned stores. This position will conduct surveillances to further identify accomplices or vehicles used during the crimes and to identify fencing locations. The Asset Protection Organized Retail Crime (ORC) Investigator will partner with Manager and local police/government agencies to affect arrests outside of the stores in a safe and defined manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Work with law enforcement to identify repeat shoplifters and ORC shoplifters; use case reporting system to gather information to establish patterns, put like incidents together for law enforcement. 25%
Establish relationships with local law enforcement to build cases with all appropriate evidence to allow them to make seamless arrests of ORC shoplifters outside of our stores. 25%
Follow up with associates who have entered incidents into case reporting system, communicating the outcome of their reported entry. Teach associates how to address suspected shoplifting through great customer service. 10%
Work with UNFI Legal Team to follow all appropriate processes when identifying suspects, issuing Trespass Warnings to shoplifters or issuing Cease and Desist Letters to fencing operations. 10%
Communicate wins to both Asset Protection and operational partners in a professional, consistent manner. 10%
Maintain good relationships with other retail ORC teams to take advantage of shared knowledge or best practices. 10%
Ensure all product protection devices are in good working order and shrink reduction processes are being adhered to. 10%

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• LP Foundation LPQ certification preferred
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
Experience:
• 2 years Asset Protection experience preferred
• Familiarity with CCTV system operation
• Experience with case report writing preferred

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/DEMANDS:
• Travel 30% - 50% required, occasional over-night trips.
• Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
• Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
