Your impact as a Medical Laboratory Technician, is vital. Operating within a highly regulatory environment, you will contribute to Vitalant's life saving mission by performing laboratory testing for high complexity blood bank testing and supporting laboratory team members and hospital partners to provide the best care for patients. Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician Required.
What to Expect:
Location: 1740 West Taylor Street, Chicago IL
Schedule: Evenings 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (e/o W/E after training). Shift Differential 8% Monday-Friday 16% Saturday/Sunday
Paid Training Days: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

- Ensure accurate maintenance of data records and documentation.
- Perform moderate complexity testing including CMV, Hgb S testing, and operation of a cell counter.
- Perform high complexity testing including Antigen screens, antibody ID, and cross match.
- Manage the labeling of routine and special components and review criteria to determine product acceptability.
- Assist in reconciling reports.
Requirements
- Associates degree --Medical Laboratory Technician required.
- MLT certification required or qualification for CLIA High Complexity required.
- One year of laboratory experience required
- ASCP certification required within 6 months of employment
