Electrician- PLC 2nd Shift (Finance)
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Job is an individual contributor.
• Job is an individual contributor and has no direct reports.
• Ensure maintenance of systems is sufficient to prevent unscheduled downtime and all systems are maintained at the most current version of software/hardware.
• Monitor and repair all PLC processes and other control systems to ensure the required twenty-four operation schedule.
• Analyze, evaluate and communicate issues from product and equipment monitoring; adjust equipment as needed to reach targeted production demands.
• Programming HMI panels for various equipment throughout the plant to ensure minimal equipment downtime and having pre-programmed panels ready to go.
• Work with Manufacturing Engineer to ensure camera system / network is maintained and operating properly.
• Responsible for maintenance, reliability, and upgrades to the Oakland Maintenance Network.
• Work with Facilities Department to ensure the software and controls for the engine room and refrigeration equipment are updated and communicating properly.
• Work with local and corporate IT to ensure security of Maintenance Network is in place.
• Ensure data collection software is up to date and functioning properly. Assist engineering staff with setting up data collection for new equipment.
• Make recommendations to management when equipment needs replacement or improvements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety and environmental requirements.
• Stay current with training and systems
• Available off-hours for technical assistance
• This role has the responsibility to understand and places in practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills:
• 5 years of related experience.
• Proficient with the programming, use, and repair of PLCs (programmer logic controllers), HMI interface language such as Wonderware or similar.
• Ability to use and read measurement instruments and communicate ladder logic drawings to management
• Ability to program / troubleshoot Allen Bradley software, as well as other major brand software
• Other preferred software knowledge such as: Siemens, Mitsubishi, Windows, Aveva - Wonderware, Cisco, AutoCAD, etc.
• Completed certified electrical classes, including military, preferred.
Preferred Education:
• Associates degree or equivalent is preferred.
• Applicable electrical courses.
• Electrical License or 10 years in plant experience preferred.
Work Environment:
• Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyor (may depend on the role).
• Work conditions are typical of a food manufacturing facility.
• This role does not require any domestic travel
• Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
• Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Greater than 4 hours.
