Key Responsibilities and Purpose
The primary responsibility of the Inside Sales Manager is to drive growth through effective customer relationship management, process management and the leadership of the team.
Additional activities include:
Develops lean systems and metrics to ensure commitments to our customers are metPrioritizes to ensure strategic customers receive quotes as quickly as possible and before the due dateUnderstands plant capacity to ensure quote submissions target underutilized assetsAccompanies managers to customer/prospect sites to understand needsPromotes capabilities and explores opportunities to increase GSM offerings and customer reachCreates processes that ensure estimates are ready and to hand off to manufacturingProvides an organizational structure that reflects current and long term needs
Provides design and engineering expertise to GSM team members and customers
Develops systems that maintain relevant processes and customer information in accordance with ISO standards
Develops best practices for opportunity tracking that includes selling metrics (Win/loss, Growth Opportunities etc.)Understands markets that drive product costs and ensures estimates are up to date.Collaborates with Strategic Account Managers and CFO to develop pricing strategiesDevelops clear and objective criteria for developing, improving, and promoting employees based on performance measures that are behaviorally anchored
Accurately prepares, maintains or authorizes department expenses for payment
Engages with teams to win business and improve processCollaborates with customers on cost saving initiatives

All management personnel are expected to update job knowledge on an ongoing basis by identifying and participating in functionally related educational opportunities, reading professional publications, reporting key learnings to the GSM Team, maintaining networks to the benefit of the company, and participating in professional organizations where indicated or requested.
Qualifications and Competencies
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess a strong ability to be attentive to detail, results driven, and the ability to keep accurate records. They must possess excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability to produce written documents that are free of spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors.
As a leader in the company, the Inside Sales Manager must maintain an optimistic attitude in helping the customer reach important goals without sacrificing GSMs profitability. In addition, they must maintain the strictest confidence regarding all issues and information regarding the companys owner, its operations and employees, financial matters, and personal matters of which the employee may become aware in the course of their work.
Due to the intense communication component of this position, the individual will also develop and maintain competency with the following programs and equipment:

Education
Bachelors degree (preferred)
Experience
Minimum of three years as an Inside Sales or Engineering Manager with responsibility for cultivating customer relationships
