Serves as receptionist operating multi-line switchboard 2. Interact with program participants and the general public. 3. Communicates effectively orally with all levels of staff within the organization. 4. Greets all visitors courteously, determines their needs and directs them to the proper person and/or destination. 5. Sorts and distributes mail. 6. Responsible for guiding applicants through the application process or directing them to the appropriate place. 7. May be involved with greeting, directing, and organizing paperwork for each orientation group. 8. Provides support to other administrative assistants if/when needed. 9. Displays the highest ethical and professional behavior and demonstrates the ability to maintain confidentiality. 10. Is a positive role model for individuals served and Agency staff. 11. Contributes to a work atmosphere in a manner that is positive, enthusiastic, respectful, and courteous. 12. Uses technology for the completion of specified job duties. 13. Attends work regularly according to assigned work schedule and per Agency policy. 14. Attends and participates in in-service training, staff meetings, and other activities to facilitate professional development. 15. Works cooperatively with others, including all staff, supervisors, administrators, co-workers, individuals served, community professionals, customers, vendors and the public. 16. Follows instructions and abides by Agency policies and procedures. 17. Assumes other duties, responsibilities and special projects as needed. 18. Assists with badging and parking permits.SECONDARY FUNCTION(S):19. May take messages and is responsible for seeing that messages are delivered in a timely manner. 20. Works cooperatively and effectively with Agency volunteers maximizing the volunteers- experience while meeting the needs of individuals served and the programsREQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION: High school diploma or certificate program.EXPERIENCE: Preferably one year experience in receptionist type work. Knowledge of the English language and basic arithmetic. Ability to meet and greet the public. Ability to earn respect and confidence of Chimes staff. Human relations skills to deal effectively with visitors/customers in person or on the phone. NOTE: At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted in lieu of the requirements specified above under Education and Experience.What's in it for you?
