ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Lead and supervise campers in daily activities, focusing on mountain biking skills and learning, but also including other outdoor adventures.Ensure the safety and well-being of all mountain bike campers by following safety protocols and emergency procedures.Foster a positive and inclusive camp atmosphere through team-building and mentorship.Assist in planning and executing engaging mountain bike camp learning and educational activities.Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.Handle minor behavioral and medical issues in accordance with camp policies.Maintain a clean and organized camp environment.Ensure health and safety standards.Show sensitivity to campers' needs, interact appropriately with them in various situations, appropriately model behavior and use positive behavior management techniques.Monitor children during swim time including acting as a lookout, helping children in the pool.Must have good guest service skills and the ability to work with children and adults.
WORK SCHEDULE & COMMITMENT
Monday Friday availability for the weeks of July 7 July 11 and July 14 July 18.Must be available for staff training before those weeks begin.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must have prior mountain bike education/instructing experience and participate in staff training. Must have general knowledge of laws and legal issues involving childcare.Advanced mountain biking skills (riding, teaching, maintenance) required.
QUALIFICATIONS

Must be 17 years or older.Prior experience working with children in a camp, educational, or recreational setting is preferred.Passion for mountain biking and working with kids.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Child/Adult CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before the camp season).Ability to work in an outdoor environment and participate in physical activities.Able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:
Protect the safety of self-workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.?
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.?Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.? Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current child/adult CPR and First Aid cards or participation in training provided by the Resort or be enrolled in a training program off property with Director approval.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.? The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
Employees must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, injury, etc.); and possess the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
