POSITION SUMMARY
The Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will be involved in all aspects of golf course maintenance. This position is ideal for someone who wants to work hard and gain valuable experience to continue moving their career forward. The Second Assistant will assist in daily operations of golf course maintenance to include mowing, raking bunkers, course set up, irrigation repairs, chemical and fertilizer applications, ETC.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Mowing, edging, and fertilizing the golf course turf.
Pruning trees, shrubs, and other landscaping elements.
Planting and maintaining flowers, bushes, and other ornamental plants.
Rake and maintain bunkers on the golf course.
Ensure bunkers are consistently presented in excellent playing condition.
Assist with the setup of the golf course for daily play and special events.
Collaborate with other staff to ensure all areas are prepared to the highest standards.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education/Credentials
High School Diploma
Prefer candidates pursuing a degree in turf management or a closely related field.
Experience
Golf Course Maintenance experience is preferred, but not required.

Other Requirements
Normal work hours are 6:00 AM-2:30 PM, however on some occasions it is necessary to work outside of normal hours to include weekends and holidays.
