Logistics Supervisor (Biotech)

This position is based on-site at our Portsmouth, NH facility.

Job Description:

This leadership role is essential in helping to build the new operation from the ground up; overseeing our logistics operations, specifically focusing on Shipping, Receiving, Warehouse and Kitting; with additional focus on working with the cycle count/inventory control team. The successful candidate will encompass excellent leadership skills, be a standout colleague, and work to ensure the achievement of customer, local and global deliverables. They will prioritize safety, maintain audit readiness, and align with all parties on tracking Key Performance Indicators.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and motivate a team of logistics professionals to achieve operational excellence. Primary focus will be on Shipping, Receiving, Kitting and Warehousing, with additional attention to cycle count and Inventory Control team.
• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, ensure clear communication with all team members, internal and external partners and ensure there is clear understanding regarding the delegation of tasks.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team of direct reports. Incumbent should be comfortable having difficult conversations when necessary and ensuring direct reports are held accountable when required. Treat all team members with fairness and consistency.
• Ensure all logistics operations follow safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement amongst team members.
• Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, minimizing delays and discrepancies while monitoring and optimizing logistics workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce cost.
• Ensure all logistics activities align with customer requirements and industry standard, while also ensuring an emphasis on cGMP practices and procedures. Implement and enforce use of GROUP, CORP & Local SOP's to ensure consistency and compliance in operations.
• Develop logistics team members through training aligned with job descriptions and departmental goals.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for documentation authoring, revision, approval and initiate/assess deviations within logistics operations.
• Obtain proper software system accesses (DMS, TrackWise, SAP, Syncade, Moda, etc.) am become a strong user of each system.
• Review daily workload to ensure resource availability and shift resources as necessary.
• Maintain audit readiness and ensure successful audit performance at all times (internal, QA, Customer & Regulatory).
• Perform all additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management team.

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma required. BS/BA in relevant field preferred.
• 5+ years' in cGMP Logistics experience preferred.
• Proven leadership skills with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Ability to motivate, mentor and support team members at all levels, internal and external to the department.
• Strong understanding of cGMP procedures and software programs applied by the company. If no prior experience, willingness and ability to learn.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Experience and/or ability to write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) from an operator perspective that will follow customer, global and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in lean manufacturing practices.
• Ability to learn and qualify in all areas of the department; along with becoming a qualified trainer, per Lonza's Train the Trainer course.
• The ideal candidate will embody leadership skills, attract and build a positive team culture and maintain high standards in logistics operations. They will ensure adherence to customer, local and global deliverables while motivating their team to achieve departmental goals. They will be looked at as a “go to” person in their area and be a positive role model for those around them. Supervisor is expected to be hands-on.
