About the BAC Urban Design and Planning + Summer Academy Program:
This pre-college program introduces students to urban planning and design with leading professionals and peers in the Boston area and beyond. This program is located in-person on the Boston Architectural College campus in Back Bay, Boston.
As fellows, high school-aged students are jointly enrolled in two programs that together are designed to support and enhance student learning— the Summer Academy Design Program plus the Urban Design and Planning Program:
About the Program Assistant job position:
Through the City of Boston's SuccessLink Leader initiative, the Boston Architectural College is currently hiring City of Boston residents who are emerging young leaders aged (19-24). This paid summer position is designed for City of Boston residents who are considering pursuing education and/or careers in design and/or urban city studies. Program Assistants assist with the program logistics while also learning about urban design, planning, development with leading professionals and peers in the Boston area and beyond. No experience is required, just a desire to learn and explore these topics, as well as develop their skills as a program assistant.
This is a great opportunity for young adults who are interested in design and STEM/STEAM careers; exploring the planning and design professions (and related topics of policy, environment, climate); and gaining knowledge about educational and career paths in design, planning and STEM.
Location: Boston Architectural College, 320 Newbury Street, Boston MA (in-person)
Program dates: June 23-Aug 8, 2024 (except July 4th)
Program times: 10:00am-4:30pm Mon-Fri (with a 30 minute lunch break)
Hourly rate: $20.00 (before taxes)
