Accounts Payable Manager (Finance)

The Accounts Payable Manager will lead a small team of associates in Cincinnati as well as the AP function of our China shared services center. This professional will provide Accounts Payable support throughout the Company, will partner on accounts payable and accruals accounting with colleagues on the Finance team, and will liaise with vendors. The AP Manager will lead upgrades in technology, automation and outsourcing to improve processes. This is an in-office position and will report directly to the VP Finance or the Controller.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee daily invoice processing
  • Proactively monitor and problem-solve issues pertaining to vendors, purchase orders, invoices and payments with a variety of urgency and complexity
  • Respectfully enforce the Accounts Payable company policies and workflows
  • Compile, present and process weekly pay runs in coordination with Treasury
  • Analyze, complete and coordinate monthly close processes, including subledger-to-GL reconciliations and accruals
  • Support FP&A on monthly KPI's
  • Own Chrome River and coordinate employee expense reimbursements
  • Actively manage the vendor database
  • Oversee 1099 preparation
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, GAAP standards, and internal controls, and cooperate with external audits
  • Review, clean up and resolve backlogged and disorganized work to improve efficiency within existing processes and in anticipation of a future software implementation
  • Research, update and maintain Open AP subledger
  • Partner with and gain input from IT and key company stakeholders prior to embarking on clean-up or implementation projects
  • Work with Controller and VP Finance to review, select and implement new AP software

Qualifications Include:

  • Several years' experience in accounts payable technical details and in relation to the entire accounting function and company financial statements
  • Some accounting education preferred; college degree a plus, not required
  • Self-motivated, independent, proactive, professional, composed, acts with integrity, organized, strong management and communication skills
  • Proficient in ERP systems, Oracle JD Edwards preferred
  • Skilled in MS Office, especially Excel
